Starting to build OFMv7 in Madrid, Spain

Hi everyone,

We have started building an OFM v7 in our DIYBio lab in Madrid.

Has anyone built one in Madrid before?

best regards

Great to hear @Gilabert_DIYBioUCM . Let us know how you get on.

I started with the manual version. My knowledge of electronics is limited. We made some microscopes using ESP32 cam modules. Could these be used to build an OFM?

As you say, most phone camera type cameras could be used to make a version of microscope optics similar to the OpenFlexure optics that use the Logitech C270 camera on the Manual version, or the Pi Camera v2 on the Low-Cost version.

The question is always about compatible software. If you have used ESP32 modules before, what software did you use?

Dear William,

I did some microscopes based on the ESPressoscope(https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.01.20.576174v1.full.pdf) An associated website (https://matchboxscope.github.io/) enable users to flash the ESPressoscope’s latest firmware directly from a web browser without any further installation of third-party software.
