On the left side of my photo here, there seems to be a bright spot. What do you think is wrong with my optical setup? I got a kit that came with 3 light diffusers. I put them in my illuminator. The bright spot goes away if I pull the light source away enough but would still like to get it resolved if possible.
@heehaw the bright spot looks a little square and is of a particular size that is close to the correction area size in the illumination calibration. In the Web App you can download the lens shading table, I think in the settings
pane. It may be called just LST. The downloaded table is an image in four panels, each panel covers the entire camera image, but at low resolution. Is there a small dot in the right place in one or more of the panels? The other thing would be to take out the sample and delete the illumination calibration (under settings
, camera
). A darker spot (for example dust or dirt) in the uncorrected image when you calibrated would look as though it needed to be corrected, but then if the dust or whatever it was went away or moved the correction would make it too bright. If you cannot see anything on an empty and uncalibrated image, then try calibration again.
Thank you that’s exactly it. The root cause was my initial camera had a spec of dust on it from disassembly. I couldn’t clean it and installed another camera after removing the lens holding it and keeping it upside down. Did not know or understand I could recalibrate that white space illumination change. It corrected it. ty.
