Tiered slides rack

While procrastinating on the things I should have been doing, I thought it might be worth designing a rack for when working with slides.

The idea is that by having them raised up in tiers it makes it easier to see and work with them. It also only touches the ends of the slides, to minimise interference with the samples.

Alas I don’t have OpenSCAD skills (this was done in OnShape), so I’ve put a 3MF file up here:

I’ve added a couple of variants to this:

One is a narrower version, as someone wanted one for 50mm wide coverslips.

The other thing I’ve done is created versions (for both 75mm and 50mm) where the steps in the middle have been angled off, (the ‘death stairs’ design). This is so the slides no longer touch at all except at the ends, and is so you can use it as a washing/drying rack, as the fluid won’t get trapped by the edges of the slides.
