Hello all! I am new here and just bought my first kit to set up the openflexure microscope v7.
The version I got is the high-res version that come with a 40x plan objective.
However, my camera and the Connect seems not able to recognize the 40x objective. All I have from the view is a small circular image that is very blurry and distort.
I am new and trying to learn all the set up. Some help would be appreciated!
Welcome @the8more. That is an unusual effect. Most problems would illuminate the whole camera sensor, even when not focused.
The one thing that I can think of which might do this is if the supplied lens is left on the camera inside the optics module. Before the camera is mounted to the optics module, the supplied lens is removed in this step.
Can you post any pictures of your microscope? Itis always great to see people’s builds.
I did a quick test. Your image is exactly what I get if I put my phone camera up to the optics module, which is the same as having the Pi camera with its lens left on.
omg! that’s such an obvious mistake I have made. Thank you for your help! It looks normal now
