Hi- just finished my hi-res v7 with sangaboard 5. All well but motors don’t seem to be moving stage. They turn on but no motion. The O-rings and gears appear to be in place correctly.
Thanks!
Oh dear. What are the indications that the motors are on? How are you controlling the microscope?
Using sangaboard5 running calibration. Y starts turning, no movement in the flexure and error shows to that effect on screen
So the motors turn, but the stage does not move?
Skip the stage calibration step, and in the web app make moves in x,y,z to check whether it is only y that is failing. The step motion is very small so try at least 4000 steps, which is one turn of the motor gear and 0.25mm movement of the actuator column.
It sounds as though there is a break in the flexure system if the motor moves but the stage does not. The most likely place to break is the base of the actuator column. Removing the motors can help to identify that. You can turn the large gears by hand, or even pull them up. You should see the stage move smoothly.
thanks to the tech support!!!
Indeed x and z move as expected, y no go. Pretty free play, can’t find a break/fault but will reprint the body.
reprinted- works great now!!
Thanks!!
In the old body, could you see what broke? A photo would be really useful to see where failures occur.
Couldn’t see but newly printed body works so assume old one failed in some fashion
