Sorry this may be a little bit off-topic. I remember I saw a fully 3D printed weighting scale/balance, which also smartly uses the elastic flexure of the 3D printed PLA structure, so that the weight scale/balance is spring-free, and all printed in one go. However, I can’t seem to find this design anywhere online. Just wonder if anyone in this community might have know this.
I have not seen it. Having worked on balances (including flexure balances) I’m interested. Is it a force comparison balance (with a varying counterweight or a feedback provided by an electromagnet)? Or is it just using the flexure as a spring to provide the restoring force?
In the second case I’d be quite worried about creep if it remains under any load, and be interested in if the spring constant adjusts over multiple load cycles.
If you do find it, please do post it here. I think a lot of us would be interested in it.
