Here is my lovely updated box design:
Looks the same, but when you take off the top. You can see some extra holes and channels:
This is because the top is in 2 pieces, these are held together by 5 hidden screws:
This makes maintenance significantly easier as you can easily access the microscope or electronics for maintenance:
